As a PNW wedding photographer based in the greater Seattle-Tacoma area, I have the joy of documenting love stories in some of the most stunning venues. Arianna and Jackson's September 26th wedding at Sunflower Farms in Olalla, WA was the perfect combination of heartfelt moments, timeless style and a setting that felt straight out of a dream.
Their Love Story
Arianna and Jackson’s journey began in high school, when they met through a mutual friend. Their friendship grew during their senior year, and after graduating in 2014, they stayed close. In 2017, their friendship blossomed into love, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Arianna describes them as “best friends who fell in love.”
In a moment that felt both personal and meaningful, Jackson proposed at the very same waterfall where their story began. From that day forward, they were excited to plan a wedding that truly reflected their bond.

The Venue: Sunflower Farms
Sunflower Farms is a hidden gem on the Peninsula, just past Gig Harbor - a short 15 minutes over the Narrows Bridge. There are many reasons this is a dream venue for couples looking for a modern, elegant wedding location. Arianna and Jackson’s wedding featured the venue’s freshly remodeled barns — one designed for the bride to get ready in, and another with large windows and a wall of doors that opened to the outdoors, creating a light-filled reception space. These buildings made portraits SO EASY!
The modern white barn with black trim created the perfect backdrop for photos. Outside, a handmade wood wedding arch framed the aisle beautifully. Guests were seated in classic white chairs on manicured grass, all leading to a paved walkway that made a grand setting for the ceremony.
Afterward, the celebration moved to the dance floor just outside the main barn, strung with warm glowing lights. It was the ideal mix of rustic charm and modern luxury — a setting any luxury wedding photographer in Olalla, WA dreams of capturing.

The Celebration
Photography: Sage & Soul Photography (that’s us!) captured every candid, emotional, and joyful moment of the day. With 20 years of experience, I know how to anticipate the details — from the emotional walk down the aisle to the spontaneous laughter on the dance floor. Couples who invest in an experienced wedding photographer can trust that their memories are preserved with consistency and care.
Rentals: American Party Place and Sunflower Farms provided the essentials that set the scene.
Venue & Coordination: The talented Madisen Gasper and Abigail Miller of Sunflower Farms made the day seamless. @sunflowerfarmsvenue
Florals: The bride crafted her own flowers — a beautiful, personal touch. She also handmade their guest gifts which were AMAZING! Check out the photos here of the beautifully hand painted oyster shells (as fridge magnets!) and miniature honey pots with adorable honey sticks! I love this so much because these are all things people WANT and will treasure!
Bride's dress with side slit from David's Bridal, mismatched bridesmaids dresses in dusty blue as well.
Catering: Delicious BBQ by BBQ2U, with sides prepared by the couple.
Desserts: Decadent dessert bars, plus a stunning blue and gold leaf custom cake lovingly made by their friend Rachel. Edible gold leaf!
Entertainment: DJ John Ley of Mystik Music and his lovely wife Melissa, kept the dance floor alive.
Bar Service: Blacklist Bartending, Alex, kept guests refreshed throughout the evening.
Officiant: Claire Hoffman led a heartfelt ceremony - everything was absolutely perfect!

Why This Wedding Stood Out
What made Arianna and Jackson’s wedding unique was how deeply it reflected them. Every detail — from DIY florals to celebrating with friends at a venue owned by their dear friends — told a story of love, community, and authenticity.
In lieu of a traditional guestbook, the couple had guests sign an unbranded Jenga block to create their own custom Jenga game from their wedding. How cool is that!? I also love the minimalist white and dusty blue decor which gave such an elegant aesthetic! The simplicity brought attention to the colorful sunflowers and other florals and the custom decor and guest favors.
Bridesmaids toasted Arianna pre-ceremony with blue champagne from Total Wine! A heart felt gift from MOH Megan Connor.
For me, capturing this day wasn’t just about beautiful portraits, though the candid wedding photography moments were abundant. It was about preserving the calm confidence between Arianna and Jackson, the laughter of guests, and the quiet but powerful moments that only an experienced photographer knows how to anticipate. To say that I loved being their photographer is an understatement, I truly could not dream up a more delightful, sweet couple to work for! I am honored they would invite me to share in their sacred day and trust me to capture the essence of their wedding celebration!
